Toyota's wild one
The Toyota C-HR is a funky-looking small SUV unashamedly aimed at a youthful buyer.
First generation (now sold out)
The now retired first-generation C-HR range is made up of three variants – the GXL, Koba and GR Sport – with power coming from either a 1.2-litre petrol engine or a 1.8-litre hybrid mated to an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The entry-level GXL is available with either two- or four-wheel drive – but in petrol form only, while the Koba can have either petrol or hybrid in FWD but petrol only in AWD, and the GR Sport comes with just 2WD and hybrid power.
Second generation (due in 2024)
The new second-gen C-HR (pictured here) was unveiled in June 2023, showcasing an even edgier look than its predecessor.
The new model will be offered in hybrid form only, and a slightly-powered up hybrid will headline the range as a GR Sport variant.
