Honda
Honda’s various products including marine engines, motorcycles and cars have been on sale in Australia since the 1950s, but the company was officially established as a subsidiary in early 1969 – the first of its kind for Honda anywhere in the world.
During its evolution, the Japanese car maker has produced some notable models including two generations of the NSX mid-engined supercar, although its range of Type R high-performance models (which included a late version of the gen-one NSX) are arguably more deserving of the title as Honda’s heroes.

About Honda
Honda’s various products including marine engines, motorcycles and cars have been on sale in Australia since the 1950s, but the company was officially established as a subsidiary in early 1969 – the first of its kind for Honda anywhere in the world.
During its evolution, the Japanese car maker has produced some notable models including two generations of the NSX mid-engined supercar, although its range of Type R high-performance models (which included a late version of the gen-one NSX) are arguably more deserving of the title as Honda’s heroes.
In recent years, the company has trimmed the number of models and variants within each family with a focus on fewer but more premium offerings. The line-up currently consists of the Civic hatchback, Accord sedan, and HR-V and CR-V SUVs. The latter mid-sized SUV represents the company’s most popular vehicle.
Honda Australia is also noted as being the first mainstream brand to introduce a nationwide agency model for its dealership network, which it did in 2020 along with a national fixed price strategy.
